Cross County Skiing

In the winter, Smiling Hill Farm operates an extensive cross country skiing operation. Just minutes from Portland, skiers can spend less time driving and more time skiing on our machine-groomed trails around the picturesque and historic Smiling Hill Farm. Trails are groomed wide to allow both classical tracked and a generous skate lane.

Smiling Hill Farm has over 25 km of trails encompassing some very challenging terrain. There are steep drops at “Holstein Hill”, gently rolling fields and old winding logging roads. There are plenty of trails to choose from regardless of your level of expertise. 

Hours & Rentals

Our fully equipped rental shop has over one hundred modern ski packages available. 

Smiling Hill Farm has Rossignol cross country ski packages available and offer traditional Nordic touring skis as well as the compact skis for skate “freestyle” skiing. Lightweight snowshoes are also available for rental and allow exploration of areas of the farm not reached by trails.

Trail Fees

• Adult Daily Pass $12.00
• Youth Daily Pass (7-17 years old) $8.00
• Trail Pass After 1 pm: $10.00 adults and $6.00 youth
• Snowshoe Daily Pass: $8.00 adults and $6.00 youth
• Snowshoe Pass After 1 pm: $6.00 adults and $4.00 youth
• Children 6 and under ski for FREE!

Rentals

• Equipment Rental (skis, boots, poles) Adult $15.00 and Youth $10.00
• Snowshoes (snowshoes, poles) Adult $10.00 and Youth $8.00

Season Passes
